Integra Water has an immediate opening for a Grade 2-4 Operator in Creola, AL. The Operator is to assist and perform semi-skilled labor in the operation of a 1.5 MGD WWTP and Pump Stations.
To assist the ORC (Operator in Responsible Charge) in duties that pertain to the WWTP and Pump Stations
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete tasks assigned by ORC or Supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the collection of Wastewater samples throughout the WWTP.
- The Operator will run process control such as sludge judge, 30 min test, and Calibrate meters and use basic laboratory skills such as PH, DO, Ammonia,
- The Operator will help and assist in basic operations such as the cleaning of bar screens and drum, activated sludge process, wasting, and cleaning of UV system and cleaning of WWTP.
- The Operator will assist in all day-to-day operations which include valves, blowers, pumps, returns, and diffusers.
- The Operator will be expected to learn all bench sheets and how to correctly fill out all forms and sheets required by ADEM.
- The Operator will need basic math and reading skills and be able to learn and adapt to technology.
- Operator will need to use GIS and multiple different systems to help keep up with WWTP and Pump Stations
- The Operator is expected to attend all safety meetings and apply all safety measures in everyday operations.
- The Operator must be willing to work after hours calls and emergency response call to the WWTP and Pump Stations
- The Operator will assist in inspecting of Pump Stations visually and keeping track of run times and grease and rag buildup.
- The Operator will assist the ORC and staff in the ordering of chemicals, supplies and learning to oversee projects at the WWTP and Pump Stations
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic Math and reading skills.
- Basic knowledge of technology and the ability to adapt to technology.
- Ability to work professionally and efficiently with coworkers and contractors on various projects.
- Ability to work professionally with customers and clients.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in a situation that might require it to the best of the situation.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to keep records and maintain a clean workspace.
- Experience and Education
- High School Diploma and or GED
- Years of Experience may vary depending on position.
Other
- Position has potential for exposure to sewer, water, chemicals, and loud noises.
- Requires a Valid Alabama Driver’s License
- Plumbing experience a plus
